Varun Mehta and Rahul Jain design this Hyderabad residence inspired from Italian and Spanish décor

Varun Mehta and Rahul Jain of Think Designz have exemplified imagination in every sense for the 3500 sq. ft. residence in Hyderabad. They have created an ambience that is impressive and inspiring.

While designing the space, the lucky ones, explored their inventiveness as the client had entrusted them the responsibility. Speaking on the same, Varun Mehta said, “Trusting our expertise, the client let us a free hand to incorporate the skills into the décor. Since the pronouncement was completely ours it was exciting and stressful both. The entire home was a big challenge as each and everything was left on us. Client had no interference so our responsibility was doubled. Simplicity, richness, storage and practicality were the focal points.”

The inspiration was drawn from Italian and Spanish décor. A dark tone, neutral palate with few colours gaze embellish giving it an appealing theme. With no comprise on comfort and quality, the apartment witnesses splashes from International surfaces. “The selection for us was very important as we wanted unique and different stuff at the same time. We did not want to fill up the entire house and wanted to keep it practical as well. We made sure that the wall arts, table lamps, floor lamps, bed sheets, everything is well coordinated.” Adding to it, he said, “We created it especially for this house. Each wall is unique and customized.”

The four bedroom apartment is flaunted with two living rooms. A formal living room in the herring bone style adds to the beauty the décor. A special space has been allotted for coffees and conversations. There is one master bedroom, a kid’s room, a room for the parents and a guest’s room. All the rooms are specifically designed as per the essentials. “We dint try to treat the door as a normal door but tried to blend it with our designing. For instance, the TV unit is concealed next to the room.”

Splendid with grey colour palate, the flooring is spread out in Italian marble throughout the space. Apart from the kids bedroom that holds a wooden effect. “We wanted to make the home look cozy and warm so that’s the reason we used lot of wood in such a way that even though we used wood the home still look spacious,” said the designer.

The backdrops in the bedrooms are stone wallpapers and wood complementing drama to it. The use of stones is different in different areas. A modern contemporary look with dark tones and stone finishes give it a comfortable and luxurious look. The lower height of the ceiling lead to clear lines. The glass kitchen looks rich and maintenance free as there is zero porosity with well-equipped storage. A special storage loft was made as per the requirement. The lavatory is lavished. Commenting on it, Varun said, “The main aspect was that we wanted to make the comfort station not just like any other shower room but with a touch of luxury to it. It should be a place which gives that wow effect. We used various kinds of stones and finishes plus added artifact plants to make it look richer.”

Lighting holding the maxima, its importance was emphasized with the use of mood lighting in order to highlight the other aspects such as stones, collectibles etc. The featuristic side was weighed through the placement of lights.
